Academic Life
The School day starts with pupils leaving their residential houses after breakfast and going into school for the first lesson at 8.30am.We have strong links between those members of the Care Team handing over responsibility for the children to members of the teaching staff.
Colleagues will liaise regarding any aspect of a child that must be carried forward into the school day.All our teachers are qualified Teachers of the Deaf, or in the process of completing this qualification.
We ensure that when a child starts his or her school day, all aspects of the technology used to help that child (hearing aid, cochlear implant) is functioning properly. Teachers carry out checks at the beginning of every School day. If there are any problems in this area, we provide specialist support on-site.
