Background

The Sixth Form at Mary Hare is without doubt the biggest centre for A Level and BTEC entry for deaf students in the country. We are very proud that nearly every student at Mary Hare School decides to stay with us for Sixth Form study. In addition, we are happy to welcome students from other schools to join us. Nearly all students go on to higher education, although we are equally proud of those who decide to go into employment.

We believe that we have the best of both worlds at Mary Hare. We are a Sixth Form in a school and our students are encouraged to offer support and good advice to younger pupils. Our Sixth Formers enjoy belonging to a wider school community. However, Sixth Formers live on their own campus and have many of the benefits of a college environment.

We have links with the British Schools Exploring Society and our students regularly take part in Arctic expeditions. An exciting partnership with Barclays Global Investors has led to Sixth Formers undertaking summer work experience with this prestigious bank and other city companies. We are also able to support students who wish to take part in GAP projects and we enjoy a good relationship with the organisation
