Message from the Head Boy and Head Girl
Securing the future for deaf children and young people - what does this mean?
Well Mary Hare strives to make our future as steady as it could possibly be. Mary Hare provides many opportunities to help us to prepare for what we plan to accomplish in our future. This includes lectures on University Life, a trip to Reading University and a chance to have a summer work placement to enable us to be aware of what is in store for us and to see whether or not we have made the right choices.
There is a lot of help available to us in school to encourage us to find a suitable route to take in our lives after Mary Hare.
Mary Hare isn't all work no play,as the campus provides chances to get involved in many after school activities, such as the Duke Of Edinburgh Award, Youth Club, and inter-house competitions. As well as activities within the school grounds there are also opportunities to do things outside of the school; Newbury Contemporary (NCYDC), Horse riding, Kayaking, athletics and the army cadets…. If you want to arrange something yourself then the Care-staff do their best to help you.
The Sixth form campus provides all year round fun, which include BBQs, film nights, swimming. The staff and pupils of the Sixth form have a strong relationship with each other, which makes us all feel at home. Recently we have been provided with new common room facilities; a plasma tv, sofas, kitchen wares and many more to come… We would like to take this opportunity to thank the Head of Care for making this happen.
If you have yet to experience the pleasure of being in the Mary Hare Sixth Form and would like to, a visit whilst in Year 11 would be much encouraged, whether it be for three days or a week, and you are sure to be made to feel at home with us!
We hope to see you here at Mary Hare!
Meghan Durno and Daniel Clements
